Sittin' Pretty

Have been pretty busy of late, so forgive me for posting yet another old pic.



It was some random colour experiment actually. Like it?

Diablo

It is a picture with the biggest and worst sin committed.

Yet, it is also one which shows a side not many has seen.

What is more important in a photograph? The meaning it portrays? Or the technical flawlessness of it?

Today, I forgo all technical know-how and present a mistake-ridden one. Because, as flawed as this photo is, it actually shows a side of my dear boy not many has seen.



This is probably one of the most problematic dogs I have encountered. He has countless vices - he is ill-tempered, aggressive, dominant, cunning...

Yet amongst all that tar, he is not without his virtues - he is also the most intelligent, affectionate and loyal to those whom he knows and love.

And the latter is the side of him only a handful will see. Mostly because they are so focused on his vices that they are blinded by the whole lot of them. How apt. How abstract.

Ladies and gentlemen, meet my Titan.

Candid

One of the reasons I prefer shooting animals is because they are always so natural.

They don't act, and most of them don't deliberately stop and pose (erm, except my dog). Humans on the other hand, stiffen up and try to bring out their prettiest in a shot. That's not what I am looking for in a picture.



But once in a while, I get a very pretty candid shot. It's al natural, captured at the right moment, without a pose of any kind.

This week has been a slight flurry of events, filming and planning.

The Dogwalker

We seldom need to go out these days.

Hungry? Call for delivery.

Need new clothes? Go online, click and receive it at your doorstep.

Dog needs a bath? There's a local mobile grooming station which will find you, no matter which ulu corner you stay.

With wheels rapidly replacing human legs and extensively cutting down time, should we even be surprised to see...

Desert Rose

Just as the sun decides to turn up the heat, my boss decides that I should be more productive working outdoors instead of in the comfort of the office.

Smart man, my boss.

But poor thing for me. =(

Standing two hours in the sun smack in the middle of town brings a place to mind.

Cracked

Blasted heat these days also meant that the earth is cracking up. (ahemgigglesahem)



It was an amazing sight, seeing the solid earth curl up like a defeated piece of paper in the stubbornness of our tropical sun.



BONUS!

There was a mini photo assignment cum competition going on in one of my Flickr groups which made me excited for a fleeting second before I realised the theme for the month - street. Not my best genre.

Nonetheless, I was looking through my recent pictures and I saw a couple of street shots taken by someone who borrowed my camera. Judging from her shots, she seemingly LOVED this genre. I selected a couple, edited a bit for her, and in the spirit of photography, decided to showcase them here. ^^

My World

Not exactly a good shot (some technical mistakes made), but it's still the one I select to represent this theme.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is how my world looks like:-



Amongst nature, with my loved one, a camera in tow and savouring the countdown beauty of our cracking earth.

That, plus the love of puns.

Then & Now

The past will always be beautiful... provided you don't go back to it.

Because the minute you do, the comparison of then and now will start.



And that's when things will turn ugly.

Heat Of The Moment

The blazing sun these days is killing me. I'm practically late for work everyday because I see the glaring rays and become reluctant to get out of my cool, fan-on-24hrs cozy bedroom.

And I'm not the only one battling the heat.



They are not only beautiful but ingenious too, when it comes to dealing with the scorching weather!

Somebody hasn't been making an appearance of late, so here's one of her before she gets really mad.



Skyla just told me how much she misses her daddy too.

My comfy life is about to be turned topsy turvey.

After a weekend of frenzy shopping, impromptu cab rides and crazy weather, the monotonous Monday lacks luster in comparison.



Even the beach kitty agrees with me.

Saturday is pure love. A day with a wonderful gift - time to indulge and spend with friends and family...




... AND still have enough time set aside to vigorously gnaw on paw pads.

I'm ugly but you're stupid

It may be my fave day, but am not in the best of moods today because:-

1) The sweltering heat is getting on my nerves.
2) Damn sleepy.
3) Some idiot just pissed me off.

So today's photo will reflect my sombre mood.

Friends Part II

What are friends?

They are beings whom fate brought about in your path of life. They can seemingly understand you, they may like you for some reason, or they chose to be with you at some time.



Once upon a time, I believed friendship lasts forever. Today I know, the chains of friendship bounds only as strongly as the weakest link.

In this intersection of our lives, we are friends. At the next junction, we could very well be enemies.

Fish In The Sea

I don't usually take human portrait shots because I simply suck at it.

I'm so awkward around my human subjects that I usually don't do them justice.



So you really gotta admire this girl's courage for being my first ever human model.

From the looks of it, I don't see myself branching into this genre any time soon.

Friends

It's so nice to have someone you can trust, someone who will be there for you every step of the way.



It just makes the journey of life so much more worthwhile.
