Yet another work week has come and gone and a new one shall start again after some rest over the weekend. It has been an interesting week to say the least - a roller coaster 5 day ride of sweet memories, of emotions, of experience, of lessons to learn, of questions unanswered, of friendships and of love.



The wind may bellow, the rain may pelt. But this budding Purple Cat's Whiskers (a beautiful name btw!) will grow and glow nonetheless. And so will I.

Beauty of Life

Live. Learn. Love. Such is my new motto in life. Because the pulse of life is only as beautiful as it lasts...



... and many a times, it never lasts long enough for us to appreciate the full bloom.

The Venture

Because everyone has to leave their comfort zone for their own various reasons and face the harsh cruel world outside.

They say a picture must tell a story. Today's picture shall do just that, or rather attempt to. My life is pretty much a rocky road right now, but being a lover of double entendre, I'm sure it can be used to describe what you're doing too, on a sunny Monday morning........

Rain.

I generally dislike the rain because it impedes activities, causes inconvenience and can be such a pain in the arse. Yet, with every passing rain cloud and its gift comes a new lease of life... and sometimes, a surprise from Mother Nature herself.




Like a drenched squirrel soaking in the rays of the sun.


PS: An unfortunate background, I know. Sigh.

I realised I've been neglecting my girl for some days now, so here's Skyla yet again. My perfect uncomplaining companion for endless hours of practise.



Really, a girl can't ask for more, except this particular girl won't mind a couple more dolls! ^.^

Canopy Of Love

Hand In Hand

I don't usually take snaps of people because I can't do them justice. However, this pure and simple display of family love was too heartwarming a moment to miss.



Not every child I know has that luxury of love.

This little guy was totally oblivious to my presence in the garden as it flitted from flower to flower, busying himself with Nature's work. Introducing the Dark Glassy Tiger:

Although I can tell apart dog breeds 70% of the time, I am a complete klutz when it comes to plants and flowers. It will be great if someone can ID this for me so I can read up more about this particularly intriguging species of plant.



They remind me of feather dusters somehow. ^.^

Fruits of Labour

If life has a colour, it is red - the colour of blood pumping through our veins. The colour of warmth which reminds us to be kind. The colour of passion because of our capacity to love.

But if there is a colour to sustain life, it will be green - the colour of Mother Nature which provides everything for us in order to breathe and live.



Today we celebrate life and the joy of living.

A recent birding trip flashed out my very first KF captured - a male Collared Kingfisher in its glamourous blue glory. An absolutely stunning bird indeed.



Now I pray there will be a second time!

A sudden downpour dampened my spirits a couple of weeks ago just as I stepped into the green canopy of Sungei Buloh. Yet as I ran back to the car for shelter, grumbling and cursing all the way, it seemed fate had something planned out that day.



Sometimes it's just pure insane luck.

Black Wednesday

Today the limelight shall shine upon a girl so sweet.
Because every Wednesday marks the week she left.
Because sometimes its hard to believe she's no longer with us.
Because when I look through my lens the next time, she won't be there.



And most important of all, because we all miss her so much.

Feelings Of Autumn

I'm not much of a landscape snapper but this particular scene just reminded me briefly of autumn for some reason. As I indulged in the moment, it felt like I was holidaying in some other parts of the world instead of trekking up Fort Canning.

This little duck gives power napping a whole new meaning as it displays supreme balance on its scrawny leg while stealing a snooze or two.



Considering its a Monday, I think its pretty much what people are doing in the office anyway. How apt. =)

The City Doll

I bring you Skyla once more, settled against the city scape.

She was just a few hours old when this picture was taken - fresh out of her box, and looking lovely in her stock. Her hair though, proved to be a stubborn nightmare ever since.

Freedoom

A virgin trip to the bird park late last year brought about mixed emotions.

While I was happy to see birds I've never seen before (almost) upclose and personal, it was also a nagging feeling to see them behind closed bars.

The Great Recession

Today's picture reminded me of what my good friend mentioned recently in passing - that her company had just retrenched staff to save costs.
